Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to keep our historic boutique hotel in Charleston running smoothly. You will be responsible for preserving the property’s aesthetic appeal while ensuring all building systems operate reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and perform routine maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Repair fixtures, fix faucets, replace lighting, and troubleshoot system issues.
• Execute painting and drywall touch‑ups to maintain visual standards.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and Guest Services to resolve room work orders quickly.
• Carry out preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms and public areas.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; EPA/HVAC certification is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Fluent English communication.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, use ladders, work outdoors, and lift up to 75 lb.

• $19.00 per hour plus overtime at time‑and‑a‑half.
