Maintenance Technician – Emery West Highland

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the property – buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas – meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This role involves hands‑on technical and mechanical work to keep the community operating smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing them according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage, returning unused items, and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Adherence to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, including participation in routine safety meetings.
• Ability to follow established procedures for inventory management and documentation.
• Commitment to cost‑cutting and expense‑control practices.
