Maintenance Technician – Charlotte, NC

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team at Alexan Research Park in Charlotte, NC. The role involves ensuring the building, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders, diagnose issues and perform repairs in accordance with company policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks across the property to reduce equipment downtime.
• Complete the “make‑ready” process to prepare vacant apartments for new tenants, including cleaning, repairs and inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to address after‑hours emergencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in building systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed work orders.
• Strong attention to safety and compliance with local building codes.
• Good communication skills for interacting with residents and team members.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general building systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
