Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor in Houston, Texas, to oversee the maintenance of equipment and facilities in a complex distribution center. The supervisor works with the Maintenance Manager to set strategies that maximize productivity and control costs, manages a team of seven direct reports, and typically travels overnight 5% to 20% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, train and develop associates through formal and informal programs, give performance-based feedback, ensure technical certifications are maintained and keep a union-free workplace.
• Maintain a strong safety culture by following safety policies, monitoring the distribution center's safety and physical security, and inspecting equipment and facilities regularly.
• Manage facility repairs, maintenance and installation, review contractor bids, select contractors and ensure they meet safety, schedule, budget and quality standards.
• Review maintenance, production and quality control reports and statistics, and recommend and implement cost-effective, safety-compliant changes to facilities and equipment.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Associate's degree or equivalent in a related field, or a bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of work experience; 3 years preferred, and 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams; previous change management experience preferred.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, climb and lift material or equipment, sometimes heavy or awkward.
• Exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise and fumes.
