Maintenance Operator

About the role

Brenntag is looking for a Maintenance Operator in Durham who will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery. The role covers routine servicing, repairs, parts management and coordination of regular maintenance schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines
• Clean machines and parts, removing and reinstalling them as necessary
• Oil and lubricate moving parts to ensure effective performance
• Record and report damaged, worn or broken parts, and order and install replacement parts
• Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns and repair machines quickly and efficiently
• Prepare reports documenting work performed
• Maintain shop areas, parts, tools and supplies, including cleaning, organizing, inventorying and stocking
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance
• Collaborate with the product manager or plant engineer on new products and modifications, run test runs and make further adjustments to machinery

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Some vocational or equivalent experience preferred
• Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods, bend, stretch, push and pull, and visually inspect machines
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
