Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all material handling, building, and specialized equipment within a TJX distribution center. You will work hands‑on across a wide range of systems, from conveyors and lift trucks to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor, sortation, and material handling equipment.
• Service heating, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, sprinkler, and other building systems.
• Program, diagnose, and repair PLC control systems.
• Perform electrical work on 230/460 V three‑phase circuits and lighting.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems on lift trucks and other machinery.
• Execute welding, fabrication, and metal cutting tasks for structural repairs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and record‑keeping.
• Perform general construction tasks such as carpentry, painting, flooring, roof repairs, and concrete work.
• Handle grounds maintenance, snow removal, and dock equipment upkeep.

Required profile

• Prior experience maintaining mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems in an industrial or distribution environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow safety procedures.
• Physical capability to perform manual labor, lift equipment, and work in varied conditions.
