Maintenance Controller

About the role

The Maintenance Controller leads the Maintenance Control function, ensuring mechanical irregularities are resolved quickly and safely. Working closely with Maintenance, MX Planning, and the Operations Control Center, the role coordinates scheduled workload across all maintenance bases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mechanical delays in accordance with Allegiant Air’s General Maintenance Manual.
• Coordinate with the Operations Control Center and Maintenance to expedite aircraft return to service.
• Track and control all Deferred Maintenance Items (DMIs), communicating status to Dispatch.
• Authorize maintenance discrepancies for deferral and ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
• Complete and distribute required forms and documentation per company procedures.
• Prioritize urgent work and manage parts/equipment transit to AOG aircraft.
• Conduct at least one annual maintenance station visit, including flight‑deck jump‑seat interaction.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Aviation Maintenance Management or equivalent experience.
• Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) certification.
• Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance/technical operations experience, including line leadership.
• At least 2 years of maintenance control experience with Airbus 319/320 or Boeing 737 NG/Max families.
• Authorized to work in the US and able to pass a criminal background check.

Required skills

• Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) certification.
• Experience with Airbus 319/320 and Boeing 737 NG/Max systems, avionics, and power plant.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe tools.
• Computer literacy and ability to work in a high‑stress control‑center environment.
