Machine Operator – SkillBridge Program

About the role

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Machine Operator for its 180‑day SkillBridge program. This position allows transitioning service members to apply their technical expertise in a high‑precision aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools to produce parts to exacting tolerances.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining sequences.
• Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments for layout, marking, and verification.
• Perform shop calculations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Fit and assemble precision components and monitor quality using statistical process controls.
• Ensure product and process quality throughout the manufacturing operation.

Required profile

• Active‑duty service member within 180 days of separation, with written commander (O‑4 or above) authorization.
• Current work authorization for U.S. positions.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience in machining.
