Machine Operator, Body Mill

About the role

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is looking for a Machine Operator for its Body Mill in Corona. The operator runs several machines, including punch presses, press brakes, CNC machines, mills, routers and slitters, and performs setups and changeovers as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure production meets quality and schedule requirements and inspect input and output quality on every unit processed.
• Follow approved procedures, keep the work area clean and organized, and handle regulated materials in line with company, state and federal rules.
• Clean and maintain equipment regularly, inspect parts for proper size and dimensions, and take tool inventory at the start and end of each shift.
• Fill in for absentees and help with excess workloads, performing miscellaneous operations to keep product flowing in the mill, custom shop, mod shop, subassembly and final assembly departments.
• Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and follow safety rules at all times.
• Work overtime as business needs dictate and adapt to changing needs, occasionally assisting coworkers in the Metal Shop.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years' experience and/or training.
• Machinery, metal bending, fabrication, machine shop, machine drilling or machine cutting experience.
• Ability to read metal shop blueprints and job orders, understand tooling instructions, and use a tape measure and caliper.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, twist, pull, carry, squat and reach.
• Guitar or musical background preferred but not required.
