Lower Elementary School Teacher (K–1)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Lower Elementary Teacher to lead a K‑1 classroom at KIPP Columbus. The teacher will create an engaging, antiracist learning environment for students in the first two years of formal education.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily instruction aligned with KIPP curriculum for kindergarten and first‑grade students.
• Assess student progress and provide individualized support to ensure academic growth.
• Collaborate with grade‑level chairs, content coaches, and fellow teachers during planning and professional‑development sessions.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom that reflects KIPP’s values of respect, support, and purpose.
• Participate in school‑wide initiatives, extracurricular activities, and community partnerships.

Required profile

• Valid teaching certification for elementary education (K‑1) in Ohio.
• Commitment to antiracist teaching practices and continuous professional growth.
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
