Local Operations Manager (Sponsor Dedicated, Oncology)

About the role

iQVIA is looking for a Local Operations Manager dedicated to oncology studies, based in Durham. The role acts as the primary Sponsor contact at country level and leads the local operational execution of complex studies, driving quality, compliance, recruitment and budget control.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site selection and qualification, recruit sites to meet targets with high-quality data on time and within budget, and coordinate local team activities in line with SOPs and regulations
• Act as primary Sponsor contact and local operational lead, attend or run investigator meetings, and drive study compliance through trial management systems and CAPA
• Develop country-level recruitment strategies, contingency planning and vendor management, including vendor selection, performance oversight and invoice review
• Prepare country-specific informed consent documents, report AEs/SAEs/PQCs within timelines and escalate patient safety concerns
• Maintain inspection readiness, ensure site data quality and query resolution, and implement CAPAs after audits or inspections
• Manage country and local trial budgets, forecast finances, and support site contract negotiations where applicable
• Obtain IEC/HA approvals, train and coach team members, and contribute to process improvement and inspection readiness initiatives

Required profile

• BA/BS degree, preferably in a health or science-related field
• 3 to 5+ years of trial management experience, including independently managing complex clinical trials and leading country-level execution
• Experience with complex early-phase trials and matrix clinical teams
• Oncology experience
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight stays
• Proficiency in the country language and English, with good written and oral communication

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of ICH-GCP, Sponsor SOPs, local laws and regulations, and assigned protocols
• Strong IT skills in Sponsor systems and trial management software
