Line Cook – AM Shift

About the role

The Hyatt Regency Schaumburg is seeking an AM Line Cook to prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items while upholding high standards of quality, presentation, and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot and cold dishes, including salads, desserts, cold appetizers, grilled items, and vegetables with precision and consistency.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills, deep fryers, ovens, electric slicers, and standard utensils, following safety protocols.
• Manage inventory by retrieving, organizing, labeling, and rotating stock to ensure freshness.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized work environment and adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation, plating, and smooth operations during peak service times.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional kitchen experience with solid knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standards.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure, team‑oriented environment.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot, fast‑paced kitchen.
• Open availability for AM shifts with flexibility for overtime, holidays, and weekends.

Required skills

• Proficiency with kitchen equipment: grills, deep fryers, ovens, electric slicers, knives, tongs, spatulas.
• Food preparation and cooking of a wide range of dishes, both hot and cold.
• Inventory management and stock rotation.
• Sanitation and hygiene compliance.
