Chief Engineer – Hotel Operations

About the role

Hyatt Regency Schaumburg is looking for a proactive Chief Engineer to lead its property engineering team. You will ensure the safety, functionality, and quality of all hotel infrastructure and systems in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage repairs and routine maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Oversee inventory, procurement, budgeting, safety compliance, and annual inspections/certifications.
• Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate engineering staff while promoting continuous improvement.
• Lead safety programs, preventive maintenance schedules, and energy‑conservation initiatives.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a hotel engineering or maintenance leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, life safety, fire protection, and HVAC operations.
• Effective communication, organizational, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and manage emergency response situations.
