About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Licensed Social Worker to join its health team at the Benton/Bryant campus. This position provides direct social work services to patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff within a dynamic clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop care plans for patients across diverse medical specialties.
• Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and resource navigation to patients and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to integrate social work interventions into treatment plans.
• Document all services accurately in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current, active license as a Social Worker in the state of Arkansas.
• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team‑oriented setting.
• Commitment to ethical practice, cultural competence, and patient advocacy.
