Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Home Health

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses within UnitedHealth Group, provides home health, hospice and community-based care. The Home Health LPN (or LVN) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing care to patients in their homes. The position is advertised in Atlanta, Georgia, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Verify the plan of care with the RN before each visit
• Collaborate with the physician and RN to meet patient needs and notify them promptly of any change in condition
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques
• Check vital signs and review medications, performing medication reconciliation at each visit
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by the physician, such as a foley catheter change
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique
• Complete documentation timely and accurately

Required profile

• 1+ year of LPN or LVN experience
• Current LPN license for the state(s) of assignment
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance

What we offer

• $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates
• Total cash pay of $51,738-$77,606 annually, with $29.85-$44.77 per visit point and $24.87-$37.31 hourly rate
