Legal Intern – Housing Justice & Tenant Rights

About the role

SeniorLAW Center’s Housing Justice Team is offering a paid, part‑time legal internship for a second‑ or third‑year law student during the Fall 2026 semester. Interns will work 15‑20 hours per week in a hybrid setting, gaining hands‑on experience in tenant‑rights advocacy and direct client work in Philadelphia courts and community programs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client intake interviews in person and by phone.
• Manage a small individual caseload under supervision.
• Assist senior staff with complex litigation and case preparation.
• Develop community education materials and support outreach workshops.
• Perform legal research, drafting, and writing for filings.
• Participate in systemic advocacy and special projects.

Required profile

• Second‑ or third‑year law student (third‑year preferred).
• Demonstrated interest in public‑interest law and older‑adult populations.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential information.
• Prior experience in a legal setting or relevant volunteer work.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.
