Legal Counsel – EPC & Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support our client, a large renewable‑energy independent power producer, on construction, procurement and commercial matters across utility‑scale solar, wind and battery‑storage projects. The attorney will play a key role in drafting, negotiating and managing a variety of project contracts while advising cross‑functional teams on risk and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and administer EPC agreements, equipment supply agreements, O&M agreements, master services agreements and vendor contracts.
• Identify and mitigate contract risks, manage claims, warranties, change orders, delays and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with legal, construction, procurement, development, finance and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide legal guidance on project‑related commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• J.D. degree and an active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum 3 years of experience handling EPC, construction, procurement, equipment supply, O&M or other complex commercial agreements.
• Preferable background in renewable energy, power, infrastructure or project development.

Required skills

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills for EPC‑type contracts.
• In‑depth knowledge of contract risk management, claims, warranties, change orders and dispute resolution.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
