Legal & Compliance Counsel – In‑House Attorney

About the role

Campari Group is seeking a smart, experienced and self‑motivated attorney to act as an in‑house partner for its commercial, sales, channel marketing and brand marketing teams in the United States. The role combines day‑to‑day legal support for a broad portfolio of alcoholic beverages with ownership of a comprehensive compliance program.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Campari’s US compliance program covering anti‑corruption & ethics, antitrust & competition, data privacy & information security, and trade practices.
• Provide legal advice to Sales, Marketing and Channel teams on federal and state alcohol beverage laws, tied‑house restrictions and three‑tier compliance.
• Review and advise on marketing materials, campaigns, promotions, point‑of‑sale items, sampling programs, activations and event sponsorships.
• Train personnel on compliance pillars, advertising standards, FTC endorsement guidelines, social media and influencer regulations, and responsible marketing codes such as DISCUS.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts for marketing services, sponsorships, SaaS, e‑commerce, talent endorsements, joint promotions and vendor services.
• Monitor legal and policy developments affecting the alcohol beverage industry and broader in‑house matters.
• Support General Counsel on internal and external projects, including stakeholder trainings.

Required profile

• Qualified attorney with several years of experience in corporate, commercial or regulatory law.
• Demonstrated ability to balance legal rigor with commercial pragmatism.
• Comfortable advising senior stakeholders under tight deadlines.
• Strong interest in the distilled spirits industry.
