Legal Affairs Intern – International Organization

About the role

The Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) in New York is seeking motivated interns to support its six divisions. This full‑time, in‑person internship offers practical exposure to international law, ocean affairs, and treaty work within a multicultural intergovernmental setting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on topics such as international law, ocean affairs, and the law of the sea.
• Assist in reviewing and drafting legal documents, instruments, and official communications.
• Take notes and provide support during conferences, meetings, and other events.
• Contribute to the preparation of presentations and website content.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate program in Law, or in the final year of a bachelor‑level law degree.
• Strong academic background and interest in international legal matters.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.

Required skills
