Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Spanish Language (Non‑Tenure)

About the role

The Department of Global Languages and Cultures at Texas A&M University seeks two full‑time, non‑tenure‑track faculty members to teach Spanish language courses beginning Fall 2026. Candidates will be appointed as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer based on their qualifications and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Teach four Spanish language courses each semester, covering beginner to advanced levels.
• Focus on areas such as Spanish for the Professions (business, medical, legal), Spanish for heritage speakers, and translation & interpreting.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program building within the department.
• Provide academic service aligned with departmental and university missions.
• Potentially develop and teach additional relevant courses as program needs evolve.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Spanish or a closely related field, or a master’s degree with significant teaching experience.
• Minimum five years of college‑level Spanish teaching for Lecturer candidates; eight years for Senior Lecturer candidates (ten or more years preferred).
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the specified instructional areas.
