About the role

The Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute (AIM) at the University of Maryland seeks dynamic educators to join as Lecturers or Senior Lecturers. You will contribute to AI education across the campus, fostering interdisciplinary understanding and responsible AI development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses broadly related to artificial intelligence.
• Develop curriculum that integrates technical, humanistic, and social scientific perspectives.
• Engage with external partners—including community organizations, companies, and NGOs—when applying for the combined teaching and outreach role.
• Collaborate with faculty across all twelve colleges on research and experiential learning initiatives.
• Participate in institute activities that promote ethical and societal impact of AI.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in artificial intelligence or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach complex technical subjects to diverse student audiences.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and responsible AI principles.
• For the outreach‑focused role, experience building relationships with external stakeholders is preferred.
