Leasing Agent - Student Apartment Community

About the role

Yugo, a global student housing operator, is hiring a Leasing Agent for its apartment community in Mankato, Minnesota. Reporting to the General Manager, the agent handles all aspects of leasing and marketing while keeping resident relations positive. Pay is $15.00 to $17.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Greet prospective residents, give community tours and explain property features, amenities and benefits.
• Answer phone calls, emails and in-person inquiries from prospective and current residents.
• Process rental applications, collect deposits and prepare lease agreements in line with company policy and Fair Housing regulations.
• Coordinate move-in and move-out processes and support lease renewals with renewal notices and follow-ups.
• Maintain leasing records, guest cards, reports, lease files and commission tracking.
• Help with marketing and outreach such as community events, advertising and local outreach to generate leads.
• Monitor local market conditions, competitor pricing and industry trends, and share leasing activity in weekly meetings.
• Follow up on resident service requests with the maintenance team and help resolve resident concerns.
• Keep the leasing office, model units and community spaces tidy and presentable.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent; a degree is not required but equivalent experience in residential properties, rental operations or related fields is preferred.
• Experience at a property, even better at a university or college.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Carbon Literacy certification or willingness to complete training.

Required skills

• Property management software such as RealPage, Entrata or similar.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, including handling difficult customers.
