Helper A - Catalyst

About the role

A Helper A - Catalyst at Greystar performs technical and mechanical work so that the buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas of the property meet the company's standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and functionality. The position is full time in Chicago, Illinois.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident service requests and preventative maintenance, diagnosing problems and repairing them according to policy, safety standards and code requirements.
• Carry out the make-ready process for vacant apartments: pre-move-out inspection, punch list, scheduling vendors and contractors, obtaining supplies, finishing maintenance tasks and inspecting the work.
• Handle materials and tools through the maintenance department, track inventory used, return unused items and notify the maintenance supervisor of re-ordering needs.
• Document service requests accurately and in a timely way.
• Maintain grounds, common areas and amenities: pick up trash and debris, pressure-wash breezeways and pool areas, clean generally and paint curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost control by fixing rather than replacing parts and using materials and tools correctly.
• Follow safety policies, attend safety meetings, complete OSHA and other safety training, and report accidents and incidents promptly.
• Treat residents with respect, answer their questions and respond sensitively to complaints about maintenance.

• Hourly pay of $24.00 - $26.00, with possible weekly, monthly or quarterly bonuses depending on whether the role is corporate or onsite.
