Lead Software Engineer II – Technology Consulting

About the role

Deloitte’s Government and Public Services (GPS) practice is seeking a Lead Software Engineer II to join the GPS HST Technology team. In this senior position you will support implementation and operations management across multiple project workstreams, guiding junior professionals and ensuring high‑quality deliverables for public‑sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and operations management activities across project workstreams.
• Lead or support engagements involving systems implementation, operations, maintenance, help‑desk operations, and software application development.
• Produce deliverables and review team outputs for quality and accuracy.
• Apply knowledge of client environments, business needs, and project scope to day‑to‑day execution.
• Guide junior professionals across assigned tasks and workstreams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of consulting and/or industry experience.
• Experience with state public assistance systems and eligibility/benefits determination.
• Strong written and verbal communication, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to build professional relationships.
• Proven ability to lead projects or workstreams, manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment, and mentor others.
• Bachelor’s degree; ability to travel 0‑20%.
