Lead Software Engineer - AI & Agentic Systems

About the role

Join Trane Technologies as a Lead Software Engineer focusing on AI and agentic systems. You will drive the creation of enterprise‑grade AI solutions that improve employee productivity and operational efficiency across our climate‑focused businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and support AI‑enabled applications for real enterprise use cases.
• Integrate models, agents, tools, workflows, APIs and cloud services into reliable, scalable solutions.
• Apply emerging AI patterns such as agents, tool‑calling, multi‑component pipelines, A2A communication and context engineering.
• Move AI capabilities from prototype to production‑ready services while ensuring security, reliability and maintainability.
• Establish reusable components, agent capabilities and engineering patterns to accelerate future AI delivery.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor team members and review design and implementation decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams delivering complex, production‑grade systems.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and practical experience applying them in enterprise environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust, measurable software solutions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude toward emerging technologies.
