Field Technician II – IT Support

About the role

We are seeking a Field Technician II to provide on‑site IT support for our national home‑improvement retail clients. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing repairs, and ensuring a high‑quality customer experience across multiple retail locations.

Key responsibilities

• Travel daily to retail sites within a 25‑150+ mile radius around Syracuse, NY.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain POS systems, Lexmark printers, access points, thin clients, and cash recyclers.
• Perform copper and fiber cabling installations and terminations.
• Document issues, resolutions, and case notes in the ticketing system.
• Work safely at heights up to 25 ft and lift equipment up to 25 lb.
• Provide timely triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of IT equipment problems.

Required profile

• At least one year of hands‑on IT technical support experience.
• Self‑motivated, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Excellent customer‑service and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and a working cell phone.

Required skills

• Windows OS, macOS (OSX), Linux/Unix familiarity.
• POS systems repair.
• Lexmark printer repair.
• Access point repair.
• Thin client repair.
• Copper and fiber cabling experience.
• Understanding of AC/DC and backup power concepts.
• CompTIA A+ (preferred) and CompTIA Network+ (preferred).
• Cash recycler repair (highly preferred).
