Lead PV Solar Technician

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Lead PV Solar Technician to oversee the Union Solar Farm in Ohio. The role combines hands‑on technical work with team leadership to ensure safe, reliable operation of solar and energy‑storage systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and supervise site technicians, promoting operational excellence and safety compliance.
• Act as the primary site representative for employees, visitors, contractors and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety analyses; enforce proper PPE use and lead emergency response.
• Perform and oversee maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of PV modules, inverters, battery storage, substations and balance‑of‑plant equipment.
• Support commissioning, testing, installations and performance optimization of solar and storage systems.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in solar, renewable energy or a related electrical/mechanical field with proven leadership.
• High‑voltage electrical and mechanical systems experience, including knowledge of electrical theory, power electronics, substation and control systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, electrical test equipment and reading schematics, one‑line and wiring diagrams.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and operational software).
• Willingness to travel, work overtime, night shifts and rotating schedules.
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred), valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport.

What we offer

• Base pay $42‑$48 per hour plus on‑call pay.
• 5 % annual performance bonus and 5 % availability bonus.
