Lead Project Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Stadler is looking for a Lead Project Mechanical Engineer (TPM-M) in Salt Lake City, Utah. You will join a team focused on designing efficient plans for state-of-the-art passenger trains, managing complex interfaces between systems and working with an international design team. The role suits candidates with experience in rail vehicle, defense, aerospace or similar fields.

Key responsibilities

• Handle the mechanical design on international projects of the company's modular vehicle families
• Implement customer requirement specifications in compliance with national standards and regulations
• Own all mechanical technical topics on the project team
• Be responsible for concepts, technical specifications, production documentation, test planning and type tests
• Plan and manage internal engineering activities, including system interfaces and approval planning
• Create engineering documents and communicate technical solutions to Production, Procurement, Engineering and Quality teams
• Communicate and accept designs with customers, authorities and other external bodies
• Implement engineering changes according to the established change process

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent training
• 3 to 5 years of experience in rail vehicles, defense, aerospace or a similar field
• Experience working on challenging projects in an international environment
• Excellent technical writing and problem-solving skills, with strong teamwork
• Fluent business English; German is a bonus
