Lead Production Technician – Second Shift

About the role

The Lead Production Technician will head a fast‑paced, second‑shift team that builds high‑temperature superconducting magnets and related assemblies for fusion devices. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on quality, schedule adherence, and continuous improvement in a multidisciplinary manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and train a team of technicians and welders to produce electromechanical parts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and qualify new processes.
• Execute production builds according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Utilize precision tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
• Enforce safety and cleanliness standards across the work area.
• Provide regular feedback during bi‑annual performance reviews.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of formal leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
• At least 6 years of hands‑on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, plumbing, vacuum, epoxy potting, injection molding, cryogenic systems, soldering, and wiring.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality, with the ability to communicate expectations to the team.
• High level of accountability for personal and team performance.

• Hourly pay with a 10 % shift differential.
• Second‑shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm.
