Lead Platform Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to drive the design, development, and delivery of hypervisor‑based virtual infrastructure solutions. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure high‑quality, innovative, and cost‑effective platforms that support Mastercard’s global digital payments ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and deliver VMware hypervisor solutions.
• Define requirements and customize applications in line with Mastercard standards and best practices for virtual infrastructure.
• Develop, customize, and test applications to meet Mastercard specifications.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical training to junior team members.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost and time analyses, and produce detailed estimates for external customers.
• Manage Mastercard’s global HCI fleet, focusing on capacity planning and technical refresh.
• Collaborate with the team to plan, design, and implement virtual infrastructure alternatives that meet business needs with high innovation, quality, and speed to market.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Expert understanding of Hyper‑Converged Infrastructure (HCI) concepts and methodologies.
• Strong analytical mindset with an entrepreneurial attitude.
