Lead Platform Architect

About the role

The Lead Platform Architect will join Mastercard’s Infrastructure Design Services team to define and deliver internet infrastructure solutions that meet the company’s security, scalability and availability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, application teams and users to generate high‑level requirements and ensure they are complete, consistent and operationally defined.
• Produce Technical Architecture Documents (TADs), logical flows, models and other technical artifacts to keep stakeholders aligned as solutions evolve.
• Maintain architectural deliverables in a current state, preventing obsolescence.
• Resolve internet architectural and operational issues that affect global infrastructure performance and availability.
• Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies for potential deployment in Mastercard’s internet infrastructure.
• May assume lead accountability for ongoing regional infrastructure initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience with internet fundamentals, including web servers, application servers and internet security.
• Ability to design middleware infrastructure from the ground up, preferably using Microsoft Visio.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills to capture evolving needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Experience producing high‑level system requirements that are consistent, complete and operationally defined.
