Lead Person – Sanitation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Person to direct our sanitation crew in a food‑processing plant. The role ensures that all cleaning and sanitising activities meet strict quality, safety and regulatory standards, supporting a safe environment for employees and consumers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily direction and supervision to the sanitation team within a designated area of the plant.
• Collaborate with management, customers and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with sanitation procedures.
• Maintain open communication with all plant personnel and report issues to the Supervisor.
• Clean and sanitise equipment and workspaces, meeting QA and USDA requirements.
• Inspect equipment before operations to verify cleanliness.
• Handle chemicals safely, staying within specified usage limits.
• Monitor and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with training of team members and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Leadership and decision‑making abilities.
• At least six months of experience in sanitation or food‑processing environments.
• Strong safety awareness, attention to detail and ability to work in extreme temperature conditions.
• Willingness to follow directions and take accountability for actions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and best practices.
• Familiarity with USDA and QA standards for food safety.
• Safe chemical handling and dosage control.
• Use and monitoring of personal protective equipment (PPE).
