Lead Hardware Engineer

About the role

A2e Technologies is hiring a Lead Hardware Engineer on a long-term contract or permanent basis, starting as soon as possible. The position is hybrid and covers San Diego, Irvine and Los Angeles, California, and Virginia. Candidates must be US citizens or green card holders.

Key responsibilities

• Design high-speed digital boards (above 1 GHz signals) with DDR, FPGAs and networking interfaces
• Bring up circuit boards and debug them using test equipment such as power supplies, function generators, DMMs and oscilloscopes with specialized probes
• Perform test execution, including test case generation, execution and reporting
• Work in a professional laboratory setting and solve problems by identifying root causes

Required profile

• Experience designing high-speed digital boards with DDR, FPGAs and networking
• Experience with EMC mitigation techniques and testing, and signal integrity simulation
• Power integrity simulation experience is a plus
• Some FPGA design and toolset experience is a plus
• Knowledge of verification methodologies and standards relevant to the space industry

• Verilog / VHDL / SystemVerilog / Vitis, Versal
• Xilinx / Altera devices such as Kintex, Artix, Zynq, Cyclone V, Stratix and Arria
• Vivado and/or Quartus
• OrCAD, DxDesigner or Altium
• HyperLynx is a plus
