About the role
The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a Sergeant to lead daily operations of its Law Enforcement Unit in the Phoenix area. This position combines frontline security duties with the responsibility of acting as an ambassador for the Federal Reserve in the community.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate law‑enforcement staff across five Federal Reserve locations, including post assignments, patrol, access control and special assignments.
- Direct resources and personnel during each shift to ensure optimal security coverage and rapid response to incidents.
- Evaluate security situations, apply appropriate force protocols, and make sound judgment calls.
- Monitor and operate bank security and life‑safety systems such as access control, alarm, screening equipment and video surveillance.
- Serve as liaison between management and operational staff, facilitating two‑way communication.
- Maintain high standards of quality, efficiency and customer service through coaching and accountability.
- Document incidents thoroughly and prepare clear reports in compliance with mandated procedures.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience supervising police officers or similar law‑enforcement personnel.
- Ability to manage workflows, administrative documentation and team dynamics.
- Strong judgment and decision‑making skills in security‑critical situations.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency and customer service.
Required skills
- Operation of access control systems.

- Use of video surveillance platforms.
