Law Enforcement Officer – K-9 Handler

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a self-motivated Law Enforcement Officer to serve as a K-9 handler. Working with an assigned K-9 partner, you will protect bank premises, personnel and assets, providing explosive detection and general security patrols.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct explosive detection screening of deliveries, vehicles and special events on bank property.
• Patrol interior and exterior areas, respond to disturbances, emergencies and potential threats.
• Maintain and train the assigned K-9, ensuring certification in explosive detection.
• Control access to high-security zones, inspecting individuals, property and vehicles.
• Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, X-ray machines, metal detectors, biometric readers and fire safety equipment.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and may serve as instructor or field training officer.

• Self-directed, versatile and able to make critical decisions in fast-moving situations.
• Physical fitness to handle K-9 duties and respond to emergencies.
• Ability to maintain certifications and stay current with law-enforcement and K-9 technology trends.
