Language and Culture Instructor – Multiple Languages

About the role

JTG is seeking experienced language and culture instructors to deliver in‑person and online classes across a wide range of languages. Instructors will design and implement comprehensive teaching plans that boost student proficiency using authentic resources and student‑centered methods.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver full‑course curricula for assigned language(s), both onsite and via virtual platforms.
• Create authentic instructional materials aligned with ILR levels and target learner needs.
• Assess student progress using OPI, ACTFL or similar proficiency frameworks.
• Adapt lessons to individual learners, including U.S. government and military personnel.
• Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to students and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of college‑level or professional language teaching experience.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in the target language.
• Bachelor’s degree in second‑language teaching or related field (experience may substitute).
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
• Strong written English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems.
• Experience using video‑conferencing tools such as Zoom, Adobe Connect or Skype.
• Familiarity with oral proficiency interviews (OPI) and ACTFL assessments.
