About the role
QinetiQ US is seeking an experienced Site Laborer to support line handling operations for the DHS Customs & Border Protection Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) program. You will work on multiple sites across the U.S. Southern border, assisting with aerostat flight activities and general site maintenance.
Key responsibilities
- Assist aeronautical crew with pre‑launch, launch, ascent, transition, station‑keeping, and recovery of aerostats.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance on aerostat and radar systems.
- Load and unload trucks, move supplies, stack materials, and manage inventory.
- Collect refuse, handle salvageable materials, and conduct basic earthwork (dig, fill, tamp).
- Support site operations such as security patrols, landscaping, and logistical tasks.
Required profile
- Physical ability to perform manual labor tasks with minimal specialized training.
- Experience managing aerostat flight operations or similar large‑scale tethered platforms.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a safety‑first mindset.
