About the role

The Laboratory Technician I supports the Veterinary Medicine – Physiology & Pharmacology department at Texas A&M University by assisting with experiments, technical procedures, and routine laboratory operations. This full‑time, onsite position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research that benefits animals, humans, and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conducting experiments and technical procedures.
• Perform laboratory research activities and record observations.
• Review literature related to procedures and adapt methods as needed.
• Support planning and supervise technical operations when required.
• Conduct chemical and physical analyses, applying ingenuity where standard protocols fall short.
• Operate computer equipment for equipment control and data compilation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; combination of education and experience accepted.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Required skills

• Knowledge of laboratory equipment.
• Familiarity with scientific apparatus.
• Proficiency with computer equipment for data entry and equipment control.
