Lab Tutor in Welding and Joining Technology

About the role
This part‑time Lab Tutor position supports welding and joining technology students on a semester basis. You will work on the Paulding or Appalachian Campus, assisting students with hands‑on lab activities and daily shop tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Guide students through lab work using SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and oxy‑fuel cutting processes.
- Perform daily shop duties, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with set‑up, operation, and troubleshooting of welding equipment.
- Support students in measuring, cutting, and fabricating components.
Required profile
- Completed or in‑process Welding and Joining Technology Diploma.
- Grade B or higher in core welding and math courses (e.g., MATH 1005/1012, WELD 1000‑1110) or equivalent industry experience.
- Knowledge of oxy‑fuel cutting techniques and safe lab practices.
- Demonstrated math proficiency and ability to read tape measures and calipers.
- Preferred: Diploma in Welding & Joining Technology and at least 2 years of welding industry experience.
