About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Kindergarten Teacher for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The role focuses on creating a flexible, nurturing environment that supports early learning and personal growth for young children.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lessons in language arts, social studies, pre‑reading, arithmetic, science, art, physical education, and music.
• Develop and use instructional materials suitable for diverse mental, physical, and emotional maturities.
• Assess and record academic and social progress, maintaining accurate student records.
• Communicate regularly with parents, hold conferences, and collaborate with staff to address student needs.
• Maintain classroom behavior standards while preserving a natural, informal kindergarten atmosphere.
• Supervise students during out‑of‑classroom activities and participate in school committees and extracurricular programs.
• Select and recommend instructional resources, keeping inventory records up to date.

Required profile

• Mississippi Educator License.
• BA or BS degree (or equivalent qualifications accepted by the Board).
• Strong belief that all students can learn and ability to structure an inclusive learning environment.
• Experience developing instructional materials and adapting instruction to individual needs.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with parents, staff, and administrators.
