About the role
The Roger Bacon Academy is seeking enthusiastic K-8 teachers who may hold any bachelor's degree and are eager to learn to teach. Candidates will join a supportive environment with academic coaches and a Beginning Teacher Coordinator.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver Direct Instruction curriculum in reading, writing, mathematics, science, music, and art to a diverse elementary classroom.
- Provide individualized support by circulating the room, working with students one‑on‑one, and managing classroom behavior.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in education with a valid North Carolina teaching certificate, or a bachelor’s in another field with a plan for lateral entry residency.
- Willingness to work on feet all day and handle the physical demands of teaching a large, diverse class.
What we offer
- Base pay aligned with the North Carolina State Salary Scale for Bachelor’s degrees.
- Potential eligibility for an additional Teacher Supplement on top of base salary.
