About the role

The Fay School is seeking a K-5 Lead Teacher to join its vibrant, student‑focused community in Houston, Texas. This full‑time, benefits‑eligible position runs for the academic year (August to June) and reports directly to the Principal. The role centers on creating a flexible, engaging classroom environment that supports academic growth, emotional intelligence, and leadership development for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lesson plans using a variety of age‑appropriate teaching techniques.
• Maintain and update curriculum maps to reflect current student learning.
• Integrate outdoor, experiential, and leadership‑focused activities in line with the school’s strategic goals.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Teacher according to the performance profile.
• Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, progress reports, emails, and phone calls.
• Utilize classroom technology in a developmentally appropriate, creation‑oriented manner.
• Continuously expand pedagogical knowledge and set annual professional goals.
