Juvenile Probation & Parole Specialist (Level 2) – Muscogee MSC

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Juvenile Probation / Parole Specialist Level 2 to support the rehabilitation of youth offenders in Muscogee County. Working under general supervision, you will provide social services, monitor compliance, and help develop individualized rehabilitation plans.

Key responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to assess progress toward goals and compliance with probation contracts.
• Recommend remedial or court action for non‑compliance and administer drug/alcohol testing, including random screens.
• Maintain detailed case files and prepare reports describing offender progress.
• Conduct pre‑hearing investigations, testify in court, and recommend sentencing conditions.
• Provide counseling on substance abuse, anger management, and related issues.
• Arrange medical, mental health, or substance‑abuse treatment services as required.
• Supervise community‑based sentences, including electronic monitoring and field visits to homes, schools, or workplaces.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field plus two years of relevant human‑services experience, OR four years of direct case‑management experience with offenders, OR two years in a lower‑level Juvenile Probation/Parole position.
• Ability to meet physical agility standards required for field supervision.
