About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II to support the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders in the Clayton CSO & HITS region. Under general supervision, you will provide social services, develop rehabilitation plans, and ensure compliance with court‑ordered conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to assess progress toward goals and compliance with probation contracts.
• Recommend remedial actions or initiate court proceedings for non‑compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing, including random screenings.
• Maintain detailed case files for each assigned offender.
• Discuss substance‑abuse and anger‑management issues and their impact on criminal behavior.
• Conduct pre‑hearing investigations, testify in court, and recommend sentencing conditions.
• Inform offenders of conditional‑release requirements such as restitution, education, and employment stipulations.
• Prepare progress reports, investigations, and evaluations.
• Arrange medical, mental‑health, or substance‑abuse treatment as ordered.
• Supervise community‑based sentences, including electronic monitoring and field visits.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field with two years of human‑services experience, or four years of direct case‑management experience with offenders.
• Or two years of experience at the lower‑level Juvenile Probation/Parole Specialist I level (SSP130) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of probation and parole regulations, court procedures, and rehabilitation planning.
