Junior Staff Accountant – Accounts Payable

About the role

The Junior Staff Accountant will support the Finance & Human Resources department by handling routine accounting tasks across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and related functions. This remote, full‑time position reports to the SVP of Accounting & Controls and offers exposure to month‑end close and audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices, payments, and adjustments for both AR and AP, including checking, posting, and reconciling discrepancies.
• Maintain financial records, ledgers, and prepare bank deposits and various accounting reports.
• Respond to customer inquiries, investigate concerns, and ensure timely resolution.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities and support year‑end audit preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least one year of general accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes‑Oxley, and standard bookkeeping procedures.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (preferred).
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting tools (optional).
