Junior Splunk Developer

About the role

Zermount Inc. is seeking a Junior Splunk Developer to support the maintenance and enhancement of custom Splunk applications for our clients. The role involves working with the Splunk Enterprise platform, onboarding data sources, and building user‑focused content such as dashboards and reports.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance custom functionality built on Splunk, including dashboards, UI screens, backend scripts, and REST endpoints.
• Configure and troubleshoot data ingestion pipelines, inputs, parsers, and filters across the enterprise.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with Universal Forwarders, data source inconsistencies, and log‑ingestion interruptions.
• Perform performance tuning of search heads, SPL queries, and knowledge bundles.
• Evaluate, install, and update third‑party Splunk apps and add‑ons as needed.
• Manage Splunk users, roles, and capabilities.
• Collaborate with multi‑tool administration teams on related security tools (e.g., Tenable, Fortify, Carbon Black, NetWitness).
• Track work through tickets, status reports, or Kanban boards.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of hands‑on experience with Splunk Enterprise environments.
• At least 1 year of experience creating Splunk content such as dashboards.
• Basic familiarity with Linux command‑line operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly and think creatively.
