Junior Engineer/Scientist/Technician – EPA Research Support

About the role

ERG is seeking motivated junior engineers, scientists, and technicians to support research projects for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development. This position offers recent graduates hands‑on experience in specialized laboratories, field settings, and advanced simulation facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing new processes or experiments under senior guidance.
• Prepare technical reports, perform data analysis, and maintain project documentation.
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair laboratory and field equipment.
• Execute technical tasks on research projects, including data collection and test execution.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop innovative engineering or scientific solutions.
• Follow safety guidelines and contribute to quality assurance, health and safety, and project plans.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career professional with a strong technical foundation.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work onsite in labs, machine shops, and field locations.
