Junior Data Analyst

About the role

MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic Junior Data Analyst to join its Management Information Systems team. You will support the organization’s mission by turning financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Gather business requirements across departments and align reporting tools with financial goals and compliance standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for retail, accounting, and operations teams.
• Serve as the primary contact for financial data reporting, providing documentation, visual insights, and user training.
• Maintain semantic models and metadata to improve discoverability for data users.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all financial sources.
• Extract and transform data from SQL databases for trend analysis, forecasting, and performance tracking.
• Translate business questions into financial insights using Power BI visualizations.
• Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to align data structures with organizational strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least two years of experience in business intelligence, financial reporting, or accounting analytics.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet competing deadlines.

Required skills

• Power BI – data modeling, DAX, dashboard creation, and data source management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including Power Query.
• SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Experience handling large datasets and performing variance analysis.
