Junior Data Analyst

About the role

Under general supervision and reporting to the Senior Director of Analytics & Client Solutions, the Junior Data Analyst will support major‑gift development efforts across the University of South Carolina system. The role focuses on providing data, performing analysis, and delivering actionable insights for annual, major, and planned‑gift donors, prospects, and alumni.

Key responsibilities

• Translate fundraising units' reporting objectives and business requirements into technical specifications and report designs.
• Develop, test, and implement dashboards, extracts, and analytical solutions using Tableau, QlikView, and/or Microsoft Power BI.
• Create and maintain data extracts, reports, and visualisations in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and related BI tools.
• Collaborate with the Senior Director and team to improve data quality and support sophisticated performance‑management solutions.
• Provide ongoing assistance for internal and external reporting needs, ensuring timely delivery of accurate information.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of advancement services, prospect analysis, business analysis, or higher‑education fundraising operations.
• Ability to convert operational and technical needs into complete, deliverable solutions.
• Experience with enterprise CRM systems, preferably Blackbaud CRM or similar donor management platforms.
• Design and development experience with Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, and Microsoft Business Intelligence tools.
