Junior Cybersecurity Specialist

About the role

Launch your cybersecurity career as a Junior Cybersecurity Specialist supporting the protection and resilience of enterprise systems. You will work in a hybrid environment, learning modern security practices while assisting day‑to‑day security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and triage security events, alerts, and incidents.
• Support vulnerability scanning, patch tracking, and remediation validation using tools such as Qualys and SonarQube.
• Maintain and enforce security policies and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, Section 508).
• Participate in internal audits, risk assessments, and incident‑response exercises.
• Collaborate with IT, development, and operations teams to embed secure practices in DevSecOps and CI/CD workflows.
• Assist with identity and access management activities, including user provisioning and access reviews.
• Document incidents, compliance findings, and security recommendations for leadership.
• Stay current on emerging threats and continuously upskill through training and mentorship.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 0–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or IT security (including internships or academic projects).
• Familiarity with security tools such as Qualys, SonarQube, or Splunk.
• Foundational understanding of threat analysis, incident response, and security compliance frameworks.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
• Eligibility to meet required security and residency requirements (U.S. citizenship).
